Betsy DiJulio

Art Teacher with Norfolk Academy

Pets: Patsy, 6, Shepherd Black Mouth Cur and Urban, 6, Pit Bull-Catahoula Leopard Dog

After the heartbreaking loss in rapid succession of her adored husband, Joe, her dog, and her mother, Betsy DiJulio, in a classic case of “who rescued who,” adopted Patsy and Urban, whose country music-inspired names are an homage to their origins in Nashville, where Betsy and Joe met. A teacher, artist and writer, Betsy loves helping her students “unlock their creative potential” and “envision new possibilities.” Similarly, at home, she and her fiancé, Bob, thrive on the opportunity their dogs offer “to see the world differently and to try to understand it through their eyes, hearts and minds.” Both Patsy and Urban love morning and evening walks, spending time with their many “aunties,” and patrolling the yard for squirrels.
