CoVa Cocktail Party 2021 at Virginia MOCA
A Recap of an Evening Filled With Good Eats, Big Smiles and Lots of Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Ten of Coastal Virginia’s most talented mixologists pulled out all the stops at Coastal Virginia Magazine’s CoVa Cocktail Party, held at Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach on Sept. 23, 2021. Guests enjoyed hand-crafted cocktails featuring Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey as the star ingredient and munched on delicious food provided by Yummy Goodness Catering Company.
The event, presented by Woodford Reserve, was a competition to see which mixologists could create the most unique, yet delicious cocktail recipes. Two winners were selected – a Judge’s Choice and a People’s Choice. Judges Hannah Serrano from TASTE Family of Businesses, Some Guy Named Allen from The Sinclair Radio Group and Whitney Sacdalan from Pendulum Fine Meats selected the boardwalk-fair styled beverage, Two Up Two Down, crafted by Heirloom’s Sasha Johnson as their winner. Event guests selected Equipoise, a ruby red sipper concocted by Amedeo’s Ristorante’s Nick Matamoros.
