Gabby Giffords Shooter Receives Seven Consecutive Life Sentences

On Thursday, Jared Loughner, 24, who pleaded guilty to the 2011 Tucson, Ariz. that wounded former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D), was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences in prison, plus 140 years. Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly attended the sentencing, where Kelly spoke for his wife: "You tried to create a world as dark and evil as your own," Kelly said. "Remember this: You failed." Iranian fighter jet fires on U.S. drone

According to CNN, two Iranian fighter jets fired on an unarmed U.S. Air Force drone in the Persian Gulf last week on November 1, while the American drone was conducting routine maritime surveillance. Although the drone was not hit, the incident raises fresh concerns within the Obama administration about Iranian military aggression. (Source)

Romney Concedes Florida

The Romney campaign has officially conceded Florida to Barack Obama, more than 40 hours after the state’s polls closed on election night. The final Electoral College tally has Obama with 332 votes to Romney’s 206. (Source)
