Cuomo Seeks $30B in Sandy Aid

It is reported that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is seeking at least $30 billion in aid from the federal government. This evaluation includes $3.5 billion to repair the region's bridges and commuter lines, $1.65 billion to rebuild homes and apartments, $1 billion to reimburse local police and emergency personnel for working overtime, and several billion dollars in federal loans and grants for affected businesses. Armstrong Cuts Livestrong Charity Ties

On Monday, Armstrong officially cut all ties with Livestrong, the charity he founded 15 years ago during his battle with testicular cancer. This decision comes less than three weeks after he stepped down as chairman of the organization. In announcing the news, Livestrong officials said Armstrong was trying to distance himself as far as possible from the organization in order to save donations. (Source)

Voice of Elmo Accused of Sexual Abuse

Sesame Street revealed in a statement that Kevin Clash, the voice of the beloved character Elmo, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old. The show was told by a 23-year-old boy that he had an underage relationship with Clash years ago. Clash, 52, denies the allegations, saying that his relationship was “between two consenting adults.” Clash will take a leave of absence. (Source)
