Romney Selects Ryan as VP

Mitt Romney officially announced Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate during an appearance in Norfolk, VA in front of the USS Wisconsin on Saturday. The announcement was met by cheers from the crowd, and Romney said of the pairing: ‘We are offering a positive governing agenda that will lead to economic growth.” When Ryan took to the stage, he said, “Next January, our economy will begin a comeback with the Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class that will lead to more jobs and more take home pay for working Americans.” (Source)

U.S. Basketball Team Beats Spain

The American men's basketball team bested Spain 107-100 on Sunday in one of the last events of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. This is Team USA's second consecutive gold medal in the sport. (Source)

The London 2012 Olympic Games have officially ended, with a closing ceremony that spared no expenses.
