2015 OBX Taste of the Beach
The annual Taste of the Beach, sponsored by the Outer Banks Restaurant Association, runs March 19–22 and is a vibrant playground overflowing with local flavors showcased during wine tastings, brew tours, brunches, dinners and more than 70 culinary activities.
“The amount and diversity of the events we offer over the four days is unprecedented,” says Audrey Webster, marketing manager and event coordinator for the association. “Taste of the Beach has successfully highlighted the Outer Banks as a legitimate culinary destination. Our loyal summer visitors, many from nearby Hampton Roads, already know how unique our individually-owned restaurants are, but the development of this food festival has taken it to a whole new level. It’s honestly four days of food, drink, and fun that’s done in true Outer Banks-style.”
The Taste of the Beach is so good that Coastal Living magazine named it one of the 10 best seafood and wine festivals in the country. If attending the event and spending time on the Outer Banks is one of those things you’ll get around to someday, remember this: It isn’t good intentions that will determine your destination. It’s the direction you take. And that direction this year should be southeast toward North Carolina.
