Dr. Alimard earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and went on to complete fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at the Medical College of Virginia.
His specialties include interventional cardiology and complex coronary interventions, radial artery access, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation and left ventricular assist device management, and pulmonary hypertension.
Dr. Alimard has previously served as Director of the Noninvasive Laboratories at Sentera Norfolk General Hospital and Sentera Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. He is a member of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant program at Norfolk General Hospital. He is involved in a variety of research studies in interventional cardiology and congestive heart failure. He is also active in educating medical students and residents at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He has been previously recognized as a “Top Doc” by his peers in Hampton Roads Magazine.
