Apple Season in Coastal Virginia Plus a Dog Treat Recipe!

Virginia Beach, Knott's Island, And Williamsburg Offer The Perfect Apples For Dog Treats

There is definitely a hint of fall in the air lately. I’m ready for cooler days, pretty leaves, pumpkins and, of course, fall recipes! One of my favorite autumn activities is picking fresh apples. A few local places that you can pick apples in Coastal Virginia are:
1. Martin’s Vineyard in Knott’s Island
2. Apple Berry Farm in Virginia Beach
3. Bush Neck Farm in Williamsburg
Even though it’s not in Coastal Virginia, my personal favorite is Carter Mountain Orchard in Charlottesville. We went last year for the first time and had a blast! They are dog-friendly, and there’s a variety of apples to pick. Don’t forget to try the Apple Cider Donuts!
Apples are a healthy and natural dog treat packed with fiber, vitamin A and vitamin C. I recently made Frozen Apple Dog Treats for my dog, Chuy. He loves them! Since the days are still hot, these frozen treats help cool your dog down while incorporating a taste of fall! All you need are a few fresh apples, some yogurt and a splash of water.
