Road Trip to Dog Friendly Charlottesville!

Need to get away for the weekend? A road trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains is the perfect course to take. My husband and I recently took a road trip to Charlottesville to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. Charlottesville is a fantastic home base for day trips around the area. I LOVE how dog friendly Charlottesville is! We took Chuy Chihuahua along and he was allowed to go everywhere with us!

Charlottesville is west of the Hampton Roads area and is about a 3 hour drive from Virginia Beach. It's absolutely gorgeous in the mountains of Virginia in the fall!

Charlottesville Dog Friendly Guide

There are so many things to do in the area but these are my top five recommendations when traveling to Charlottesville with a dog.

1. Visit the Carter Mountain Orchard to pick some apples, eat some apple cider donuts, and drink some wine!

2. Enjoy lunch outdoors and do some people watching at the Charlottesville Downtown Mall.

3. Feeling adventurous? Go hiking at Crabtree Falls!

4. Take a relaxing drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, preferably near sunrise or sunset for some fantastic photos!

5. Unwind and have lunch and a cold one at the Blue Mountain Brewery.

I put together a Dog Friendly Guide to Charlottesville over at Irresistible Pets that includes all the places we visited. Come on over and check it out!
