Get Patriotic This Summer in Coastal Virginia

What does summer time mean to you in Coastal Virginia?  For me it’s about going to the beach, attending festivals, cookouts with friends/family, and of course celebrating the summer holidays like Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.

My favorite thing to do is spend a day at the beach with my husband and dog, Chuy. There are so many beaches in our area that you can never get bored. Our favorite beach is Ft. Story in Virginia Beach. The water is so calm and it’s rarely crowded . . . and you can bring your dog without any seasonal restrictions!

Of course, you can’t go to the beach without a beach bag! I decided to get into the summer holiday spirit and create a patriotic tie dye beach bag AND a matching dog shirt! These were so fun to make, and I can’t believe how easy it was. Tie dying is another fun summer time activity because you do it outdoors. I created these with my mom and niece out on my patio, and we had a blast. I hope that you give this a try over the summer.

Is your dog patriotic?
