Dog Friendly Camping in Virginia Beach

Hampton Roads Dog Blog

Taking a vacation is something all of us need in order to recharge our batteries. However, in this economy, it’s not always easy to find the money to sneak away. I recommend doing a “staycation” in your home town if you’re looking to save a few bucks! It’s a great way to save money and explore your city in different ways. There’s still plenty of summer time left so why  not take a camping trip with your dog? Did you know that Virginia Beach has 5 dog friendly campgrounds?

My personal favorite is First Landing State Park. I love the variety of hiking trails and the fact that they have a beach! Chuy loves that too! It’s perfect for a day trip or an overnight camping adventure!

There are more than 200 campsites in First Landing State Park. Pets are allowed for an additional $5 per night charge. There are also cabins for rent and allow pets for $10 per night. Dogs are allowed throughout the park and on the beach.
