Do It Yourself Summer Dog Treat

Irresistible Pets

It sure has been hot and humid lately in Hampton Roads! Is anyone else ready for some cool fall weather? I know that I can’t wait!

When it’s hot outside, I love to make healthy frozen treats for Chuy. Making your own treats is a great way to save money and to ensure that your dog is getting all natural ingredients! My favorite summer time dog treat are these Frozen Luau Dog Treats. These are perfect for a hot summer day and especially a luau themed get together!

All you need is a banana, peanut butter, and some fat-free plain yogurt. I picked up some cute tiki-man ice cube trays at Target last summer in the dollar bins but I recently saw the same ones at a Dollar Tree in Virginia Beach.

To make these treats, you basically blend all of the ingredients together and freeze overnight. To see the full Luau Dog Treat recipe with detailed instructions, head over to Irresistible Pets

Before trying out new treats, make sure that your pet is not allergic to any of the ingredients. If unsure, contact your vet.
