July 4th and Hurricane Pet Safety Tips



Mother Nature sure has poor planning this weekend! Hurricane Arthur is heading up the coast just in time for July 4th weekend. It’s hard to say how it’s going to play out at this point with all the different forecasts out there. One thing you can plan on is being prepared! I wanted to share a few pet safety tips for July 4th and hurricanes.

Did you know that more pets go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year?

Many pets are absolutely terrified of the sound of fireworks and will run for the first open door or gate to escape the sound. There are some precautions you can take to make sure your pet stays safe this July 4th weekend. Check out some of these tips from Pet Finder.

We are all pretty bummed about Hurricane Arthur making a visit here in Coastal Virginia for the 4th. In fact, many local fireworks shows have already been rescheduled to Saturday.  Knowing how to prep for a hurricane is an essential part of living in Coastal Virginia.
