Event Recap: 2015 CoVa Best Of Party
Through the arch of the sand castle-esque ice sculpture was the lively heartbeat of CoVa’s Best Of Party, presented by Goodman & Sons Jewelers. After more than 70,000 votes in categories ranging from health and beauty to restaurants and bars, the winners were commemorated at the annual soirée. At 6 p.m. sharp, guests arrived at the Chesapeake Conference Center ready to celebrate Hampton Roads’ finest.
The hanging mural of a moonlit summer night complete with a ferris wheel backed the thrilling tunes of Borderline Crazy as guests noshed and sipped throughout the night. While guests were animated by the swift caricature artist Bob Langston, others took a chance at the gambling tables and silent auction.
The rest perused the offerings of our winners serving everything from fresh oysters to fried shrimp and grits. Along with beer and wine, there was a stellar lineup of tasty cocktails, named after our sponsors: Goodman & Sons Jewelers, Wolcott-Rivers-Gates Attorneys at Law, Alzheimer’s Association and Chesapeake Conference Center, as well as Coastal Virginia Magazine.
Here are some of the night’s food highlights:
Atlantic Shores’ strawberry shortcake, Kahlua pulled pork with a macaroni salad and candied pineapple and chilled watermelon and cucumber salad with a blood orange-herb vinaigrette.
