Women have been fashion conscious for as long as time. I love fashion and accessories and admit to having a particular fetish for watches. I own several, some with leather bands in different colors and textures and some with metal bands. They have round-, rectangle-, and even square-shaped cases and can be funky, traditional, or show off lots of sparkle. Pam's Tips: Whatever your choice in watch style, there are a few things to consider.
- The purpose of the watch: Do you want a watch for the gym or the beach? Are you looking for daytime or evening use?
- The style: A round shape is classic and never goes out of style. A square shape has more of a masculine style while a rectangular shape has is more retro chic. Do you want Roman numerals, Arabic numerals, or strokes or dots to represent the hours and minutes? Make sure you can at least read the time!
- The material: Gold is a traditional classic. Stainless steel, although used in more masculine styles, is tough and has a heavier feel. Ceramic is widely used and makes for a more contemporary style, will not scratch, can be colored and is highly polished. Water resistant watches are great for sports or the beach.
- Bracelet or strap? A bracelet watch is a more formal piece of jewelry. Leather straps can be fashionable with fun colors to match dials. And rubber straps are not just for the guysthey are durable and will not be damaged by perfumes or cosmetics. If you really want something a little more elaborate, splurge on a diamond-set watch. Luxury never goes out of style!
