We all win when a child succeeds in school, a neighborhood turns around, families have good health, and workers have solid jobs. And we believe education is the key to developing and sustaining healthy, financially stable, self-sufficient communities.
United Way of South Hampton Roads recruits people and organizations that bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to make this happen. To solve broad social problems we can’t solve as individuals.
Donations always have and always will fund essential and urgent services – food, shelter, child care for low-income families, emergency services for victims of violence, and support for local military families while a parent is deployed.
But, with thousands of children dropping out of school every year in South Hampton Roads, we realized there’s even more work to do. So United Way’s new initiative, United for Children, is building a powerful coalition of public and private partners to drive educational success for our poorest children with enough force and focus to break the cycle of poverty.
However you choose to help, know you are making our community stronger with your donation.
We invite you to be a part of the change.
You can Give, you can Advocate, you can Volunteer. That's what it means to LIVE UNITED.
