Description:

In the midst of the women's suffrage movement in 1920, Ethel T. Wead Mick created Job's Daughters to give young women the opportunity to practice and perfect the skills of leadership and public speaking and develop the self-confidence necessary to be successful in their community. Mick saw parallels between the challenges women faced as they fought to be accepted as equals and those trials told in the Old Testament story of Job.
