Summer Six Pack

Any time is a good time for a locally crafted beer, but in late spring and early summer, as the grill is fired up and the Adirondack chairs make their way to the porch, we really start craving a cold, refreshing brewski.

Here is my fantasy six pack for the season. Grab these beers (some are available in cans and bottles, others in growlers), and kiss Old Man Winter goodbye.

Alewerks Brewing Company's White Ale: Orange and other fruity/spicy flavors abound in this Belgian White ale

Big Ugly Brewing's Bim’s Magic Berlinerbus: A thirst-quenching, lightly sour, low alcohol fruity beer

Bold Mariner Brewing's Bold Dominion: Well-balanced, clean, refreshing American pale ale

O’Connor Brewing's Green Can: A crisp, clean, light-bodied golden ale

Wasserhund Brewing's King Neptune Kolsch: Slightly sweet, hints of citrus and mildly hopped kolsch

Young Veterans' Honey Blonde Ale: Light-bodied, smooth and with honey notes, this is a delicious sessionable ale

Here are three summer beers to try during Virginia Craft Beer Month.
