If ever there is a time to be filled with hope, it’s the weeks before summer, when sunshine, silliness and serious fun should rule. And if ever there is a time to be filled with regret, it’s at the end of summer, when disappointment, tiredness and poverty tend to rule for over-ambitious moms. A statistician might capture the “joy discrepancy” I’ve experienced like this:
