Score at Peninsula Town Center
Take a deep breath because you're going to need room for dinner and a movie. At Score located inside of CinéBistro at Peninsula Town Center, popcorn takes a back seat while Cherry Coke BBQ ribs and fresh lump crab cakes step up to the plate.
CinéBistro is known for being a premier movie theater, but the other half of the building is reserved for what they call Score. Complete with pool tables, bowling lanes, giant screens, a DJ booth and a decked out bar serving craft beer, wine and cocktails, Score creates a fun and energizing atmosphere for people to have a safe night out all in one place.
In movie theaters where the expectancy of quality grub is quite low, Score exceeds in raising the bar. The husband and I had a chance to sample from their menu, most of which is made from scratch, as well as some adult beverages. While there is a corporate chef, each of the CinéBistro locations’ executive chefs spin the menu to adhere to local flavors while still preparing signature items which are available at all locations.
My husband ordered the Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter and the Brew Free! Or Die IPA by 21st Amendment Brewery, and I had their fruity Sparkleberry Sangria and Zen Master, a brand new cocktail with green tea syrup and Absolut Hibiskus to ready our palates.
After sampling from a menu of their most popular items, here were the highlights:
Coated in their signature Cherry Coke BBQ sauce, the ribs of their BBQ Pork Rib Stack melted off of the bone.
Their Pan-Seared Atlantic salmon was piled on the most buttery lemony whipped potatoes.
The BBQ Chicken Flatbread had slivers of mango and red onion with their Cherry Coke BBQ sauce.
Then, swimming in chocolate, caramel and marshmallow sauces, the Chocolate Brownie dessert was oozing with melted chocolate and a salty pretzel crust beneath. Atop were homemade toasted marshmallows and little crispy chocolate-covered croquant bits.
But, if we had to pick, our favorite dish was the Lump Blue Crab Cakes. With all crab and no filler, their tasty lump crab cakes knew how to please these locals.
In a spot where you can enjoy dinner, a couple rounds of pool, bowling or a movie, it can truly be an all-day venture. Of course you can stick to your popcorn and candy, if that’s your thing, but if you’re looking for dinner or a late night snack accompanied by some adult beverages, Score’s got you covered.
Score is located at 4401 West Claiborne Sq. Hampton. They open 30 minutes before the first movie showing of the day. For movie times click here.
