The Dry House Set to Open Blowout Salon in Virginia Beach

As a military spouse, Georgia Huber has spent years traveling the U.S. with her husband, making temporary homes in Virginia and South Carolina, among other states. One constant in the Hubers’ lives, however, is their blissful getaways to Nashville, Tenn. where the couple passes time exploring Music City and catching up with family.

One of Huber’s most frequented Nashville spots is The Dry House, a self-proclaimed "bad ass" blowout salon owned by Huber’s now close friend and business partner, Ali Ryan. Having spent years in Ryan’s salon chair and honing her own stylist skills for nearly two decades, Huber proposed bringing The Dry House to the beach in 2017.

Nearly one year since Huber’s proposal, The Dry House Virginia Beach is now just weeks away from its Labor Day grand opening. Like the Nashville salon, Huber explains that the Red Mill shop will offer the same seven blowouts at just $40 per treatment. Huber has also added an exclusive Virginia Beach blowout to the house menu. The locally inspired do, The 757, offers clients a playful beach pony.

Huber rivals the rustic interior of Ryan’s Nashville parlor with coastal accents like capiz shell fixtures, chic shutters and lively palm tree wallpaper flanking the bathroom walls. A pearlescent backsplash also frames The Dry House’s signature double-sided fireplace crowned with the salon’s gold key trademark.

Behind the fireplace sits a handful of private blowout stations and a chic washing room. Centralizing the back of the studio is a trendy sitting area furnished with gold trinkets and tufted sofas on which bridal parties and Dry House regulars can enjoy a chilled glass of champagne, complimentary with every blowout.

In addition to blowouts, Huber will offer coloring treatments and make-up sessions by appointment.

The Dry House Virginia Beach is located at 2201 Upton Dr., Suite 906, Virginia Beach and is expected to open Sept. 3.
