Virginia Green Events Program provides Environmentally-Friendly Events
There is a lot to love about attending one of the many events and festivals held each year during the warm weather months in Coastal Virginia. Now some popular events throughout the area will leave you feeling even better about attending knowing they have been thoughtfully planned with the environment in mind.
The Virginia Green Events program allows event organizers to verify that they are practicing a list of core activities, including providing recycling, minimizing the use of disposable food service products, minimizing use of printed materials, reducing overall waste and posting signage informing participants about the event’s green attributes.
Please consider attending one of the following upcoming Green Events. For a full list of participating events, visit Virginia.org/Directory/Events/VirginiaGreen.
