NEW GOURMET SHOPS
Coastal Virginia welcomes two new locations for some favorite gourmet shops and a re-invention of another.
Taste Unlimited opened its original Bayville store in 1982 on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach, just west of the Lesner Bridge. A new location now doubles the size and includes a mezzanine with seating. New features include indoor seating, wine by the glass, draft beers and growlers, gelato and an expanded produce stand area. The new design harkens to the old dairy once on the property. The store is located at 4097 Shore Dr. in Virginia Beach. Call 757-464-1566 or visit www.TasteUnlimited.com.
Edwards Ham Shop of Williamsburg has moved to a location near the Premium Outlets in the colonial capital. Features include Virginia hams, bacon and sausage, deli sandwiches and specialty foods from across Virginia. The store is located at 5541 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg. Call 757-903-4465 or visit www.EdwardsVaHam.com.
MAD About Chocolate has re-tooled, turning the chocolate café into an art gallery with a succinct line of chocolate offerings. The delicious location comes from Marcel Desaulniers, former owner of The Trellis, inventor of the iconic dessert Death By Chocolate and author of numerous cookbooks. Marcel’s wife, Connie, is a noted artist. MAD About Chocolate is located at 204 Armistead Ave., Williamsburg. Call 757-645-2995 or visit www.MADAboutChocolate.us.
