Foxconn Plant Closed

Foxconn Technology, a major supplier to some of the world’s biggest electronics companies, including Apple, has closed one of its largest Chinese plants Monday after police were called in to break up a fight among factory employees that escalated into a riot involving more than 1,000 workers late Sunday. The cause of the disturbance is still under investigation. A Foxconn spokesman declined to specify whether the plant made products for the iPhone 5. (Source)

Virginia Beach woman charged with child pornography

Adrienne H. Harris, 22, a Virginia Beach woman, has been sentenced to 25 years in jail for her role in the production of child pornography that used a 1-year-old child. Harris pleaded guilty on June 6. Court documents show that in the summer of 2011, Harris produced and emailed sexually explicit images of the 1-year-old at the request of another person who is awaiting trial in Indiana in a similar scheme involving a 3-year-old. US Marines recommended for trial for urination video

Two US Marines have been referred for trial by courts martial for a video of troops urinating on Taliban corpses in Afghanistan, according to the US military. Staff sergeants Joseph Chamblin and Edward Deptola are also charged with failure to report or stop misconduct by junior Marines, including random firing of weapons. The two non-commissioned officers are alleged to have posed for photographs with human casualties. (Source)
