Occupy Wall Street Anniversary

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street where hundreds of protesters took to the Financial District of New York, leading to police barricades and camp being set up at Zuccotti Park. Today hundreds have taken to the streets of New York again in remembrance of what happened a year ago today and possibly to give new life to the movement leading up to November’s election. (Source)

Kate Middleton topless photos to be published in Italian magazine

After a French magazine, Closer, was responsible for publishing topless photos of Kate Middleton while she was sunbathing in France, the royal family was furious. However, that hasn’t stopping an Italian magazine, Chi , from publishing a 26-page spread of grainy, telephoto-lens photos of the topless Duchess of Cambridge, despite the royal family’s filing of a criminal complaint and civil action against the French magazine that first published the photos and the still-unidentified photographer who took them. This is the third European publication to print the photos. (Source)

Virginia Beach Schools poster causes concern

A poster that was spotted in the children’s bathroom at the special education annex on Laskin Road is causing some concern for discouraging kids to stay in school. The poster shows a frustrated student and states, “High school not for you? I got my GED, and now I’m getting on with my life!” The posters were made by the Virginia Beach Schools alternative education office, and Public Relations Coordinator Jeff Barba explained that that the alternative education coordinator had intended to remove all the posters and just had not gotten to all of them.
