Apple introduces iPad Mini

Apple revealed a new product this afternoon, the iPad Mini,a pencil-thin version of the iPad that’s as light as a pad of paper, according to Apple. It has a 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1024 by 768 screen so all software created for previous iPads will work. The new iPad is made of aluminum and has a dual-core A5 chip, FaceTime HD, a 5 megapixel iSight camera, LTE wireless, faster Wi-Fi and the Lightening connector. It will be priced at $329. (Source)

Portsmouth City Manager to resign

A City Hall source confirms that Portsmouth City Manager Ken Chandler will resign and is going to offer his resignation tonight because he refuses to put in writing what he told City Council members Monday night on the circumstances surrounding the rehiring of former Fire Chief Don Horton. Horton resigned in July only to be named the new deputy director of emergency management a couple months later. The City Manager wants to stay on 30 days and wants one year severance, which is in accordance with his agreement with the city, sources say. (Source)

Obama and Romney reveal current state of presidential race

The final debate of campaign 2012 served as a revealing moment that said plenty about the current state of the race for the White House. President Obama tried to rattle and disqualify his opponent while Mitt Romney played not to lose the debate in the hope of winning the election in what appeared to be a role reversal. Instant polls produced a predictable result: a narrow Obama victory, according to CNN but with Romney passing the commander-in-chief test in the eyes of those who watched. The reactions offered confirmation that most voters are locked into their choices and unlikely to be swayed by a few exchanges between the candidates, however effective their arguments. (Source)
