15-year-old arrested in death of Lake Taylor student

This morning a 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with murder and felonious use of a firearm in the fatal shooting of Lake Taylor High School student David L. White, 19. White was fatally shot around 9:15 p.m. Friday on Goff Street. The shooting occurred a few blocks from where Lake Taylor played at Booker T. Washington. All Norfolk high school varsity home football games will be played during the day for the rest of this season, according to Elizabeth Mather, a schools spokeswoman. (Source)

Pennsylvania voter ID law enforcement halted by judge

Today a Pennsylvania judge, Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson, ordered state officials not to enforce the commonwealth’s voter identification requirement on Election Day, saying there was not enough time to ensure that some voters would not be disenfranchised. Simpson said elections officials could still ask voters for a photo ID but could not turn away otherwise qualified voters who had not been able to obtain one. (Source)

Michael Vick has spent $29 million since filing for bankruptcy

After Michael Vick filed for bankruptcy in 2008, he’s spent $29.6 million of the $31 million he’s earned since then. The majority of non-tax spending has gone toward creditors he owed after his 2008 filing. After being released from prison for his role in a dog fighting ring, his lawyers accepted a reorganization plan to help pay off his depts. (Source)
