Soldier’s pregnant wife attacked, stabbed

Justin Poole, a deployed soldier with local ties, reportedly witnessed a brutal attack on his wife by another soldier at their home in Texas. His wife, Rachel Poole, who was nine months pregnant, was video chatting on FaceTime with her husband when she was attacked. The family lives in El Paso, but according to Justin Poole’s Facebook page, he is from Williamsburg. Reportedly, 19-year-old Corey Bernard Moss, a Fort Bliss soldier, went into Poole’s home to confront Rachel Poole about money he owed her. Police say Poole was attacked from behind with a stainless steel knife. Rachel Poole remains in the hospital but delivered her baby girl, who is in good condition. Moss was reportedly taken into custody by military police. (Source)

Texans coach Gary Kubiak collapses during game against Colts

At halftime during last night’s game 52-year-old coach Gary Kubiak collapsed while leaving the field. He hunched over and dropped to his knees at the 24 yard line and was immediately surrounded by medical personnel. He was then lifted off the field on a stretcher and taken by cart to the ambulance. Kubiak is now in stable condition. It hasn’t been said what was wrong with Kubiak, but the Texans said that he did not have a heart attack. (Source)

YouTube holds music awards

Internet superstars mingled with industry heavyweights last night at the first YouTube Music Awards. Hosted by Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts and featuring live performances by Lady Gaga, Eminem and other pop and rock guests, YouTube’s event was live-streamed the world over, and the awards were entirely dependent on the participation of viewers.
