Skeleton discovered in wooded area in Virginia Beach

Skeletal remains were discovered yesterday in an abandoned lot on Bonney Road. Police department spokeswoman Officer Grazia Moyers said a woman reported that her friend discovered the remains while walking in the wooded area of the 4500 block of Bonney Road. A medical examiner and anthropologist visited the scene to examine the bones. Missing persons cases are being reviewed, but officers must await the medical examiner's results before proceeding further. (Source)

Navy vet accused of being Russian spy

20-year Navy veteran Robert Patrick Hoffman is accused of attempted espionage for jeopardizing the United States after providing information to Russian officials. The documents "revealed and pertained to methods to track U.S. submarines," according to the indictment. The Virginia Beach resident was taken into custody this morning and appeared in Norfolk Federal Court. If convicted, the judge told Hoffman he is eligible for the death penalty. Hoffman will return to court on December 11 to have his council appointed. (Source)

Plans to manufacture Mac computers in USA

Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that one of the existing Mac lines will be manufactured exclusively in the United States next year. It hasn’t been announced which Mac line it will be because Apple, widely known for its secrecy, left it vague. The announcement could be good news for a country that has been struggling with unemployment and has been dedicating good-paying factory jobs to lower-wage nations such as China. (Source)
