Gabby Douglas to appear on Kellogg's Corn Flakes boxes this fall

Not only has Gabby Douglas earned gold in the Olympics, but she’ll gain even more fame this fall when she appears on a special-edition box of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes. The Kellogg Company is an official sponsor of the United States Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics, and this week, Doug VanDeVelde, senior vice president of Morning Foods, Kellogg Company, said they were proud to support the potential of young athletes and the amazing team of U.S. gymnasts. Tunnel toll lawsuit needs more information to continue

The people who are suing to stop the Midtown and Downtown tunnel toll project may have a case—but they’ll need to be more specific about it. A group including 31 named individuals, seven companies and an association, Citizens Against Unfair Tolls, are trying to derail a $2.1 billion transportation project that is being built as a public-private partnership and financed by a mix of public money, a federal loan, private investment and tolls. The state Attorney General’s Office has responded to their lawsuit in a three-page motion that says it needs more information to properly defend the case. (Source)

New flu virus can pass from pigs to people

Those attending county and state fairs are urged to take extra caution when coming in contact with animals. A new influenza strain linked to contact with pigs has sickened at least 12 people week, and all cases involved recent contact with pigs at agricultural fairs. Doctors at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention warn people to wash up and avoid eating around animals when they attend these events. (Source)
