Police identify Hampton biker killed in crash

Hampton police were called to the first block of Wind Mill Point Road around 8:25 p.m. Sunday after receiving calls about a collision between a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 1996 Nissan pickup truck. Officers found the 48-year-old motorcyclist, William Edward Crooker III, of Hampton, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He died at the scene after members of the Hampton Fire and Rescue Division arrived. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. (Source)

Teens who died in Asiana crash were bound for church camp

On Saturday morning Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash-landed at San Francisco International Airport with 307 passengers and crew members on board—including Wang Linjia and Ye Mengyuan, two 16-year-old girls from the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, who were supposed to arrive at West Valley Christian Church and School no Monday for a three-week American adventure. The two girls were the only fatalities in the crash, although 182 other people were taken to hospitals after the incident, two paralyzed with spinal injuries and eight in critical condition. 10 killed in Alaska floatplane crash

Ten people were killed on Sunday when a floatplane crashed and burst into flames at an airport in the Alaska Kenai Peninsula. No survivors were found. The plane was operated by a local air-taxi company, and it crashed at the Soldotna airport around 11:20 a.m. The victims’ names were not released Sunday as police were still trying to identify the victims and locate family members.
