Grammy winners list: Gotye, Miguel, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake and more win At 2013 awards

A night full of stars, elegance and shiny Grammy awards took over primetime television on Sunday, Feb. 10. Known to be the biggest night for music, the 55th Grammy Awards held some of the most talked about events including Chris Brown’s disrespect toward Grammy winner Frank Ocean, Katy Perry’s now infamous mint dress and Justin Timberlake’s comeback performance with rapper Jay-Z. Some of the winners of the Grammy awards include Kelly Clarkson for Best Pop Vocal Album, Mumford & Sons’ “Babel” for Album of the Year, the Zac Brown Band for the Best Country Album, and Best Rock Album for The Black Keys’ “El Camino.” (Source)

Food Drive Kicks off in Chesapeake

The city of Chesapeake began a food drive to help the hungry Saturday in aims to collect 100 pounds of non-perishable items. The week-long food drive will benefit those struggling in the community. Food drive organizer Stephanie Burke stated that many people go through struggles and that “a little bit of food here and there for a week will definitely help somebody.” The food drive will continue through Feb. 16, and those interested in donating are urged to bring items to the Castle Shops on South Military Highway. Incredible imagery from the February 8-9, 2013 New England Blizzard

It seemed as though the New England part of the Northeast had found “Nemo.” The incredibly large storm named by The Weather Channel slammed into areas from New York to Boston and Maine. The nor’easter produced record-setting snow totals with strong winds and severe ground conditions. The bad weather began midday Friday, Feb. 8 after two storms collided and the storm produced up to six inches per hour in some locations. The shape of the storm resembled a comma, and trailing portions of it dipped into West Virginia and D.C. The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is back, and with a new glam-rock attitude.

This year’s fashion week continued through the weekend and featured designers such as Nicole Miller, Lacoste, Herve Leger, and Rafael Cennamo. Designer Diane von Furstenberg featured her Fall 2013 collection complete with bold patterns, bright colors and a theme, “Life’s a Party!” Looks included a bright blue halter gown and pink jumpsuits.
