CIA operating drone base in Saudi Arabia, US media reveal

The US Central Intelligence Agency no longer holds a two-year long secret. The CIA have been operating an airbase of unmanned drones in Saudi Arabia in attempts to hunt members of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula in Yemen. Construction of the airbase was ordered after a December 2009 missile strike in the area, and has been operated by the remaining personnel of the United States, the United States Training Mission (USMTM).  The information about the drone base was leaked to the public after the disclosure of the US justice department memo explaining the Obama administration’s case for “killing any American abroad who is accused of being a ‘senior, operational leader’ of al-Qaeda or its allies,” as reported by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Postal Service plans to end Saturday mail delivery by August

“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” This motto may be changed slightly once the Postal Service plans to end its Saturday mail delivery by August of this year.  Although the mail will be stopped, the delivery of packages will continue past Aug. 1. The change was made due to financial struggles by the Postal Service, and offices across the country will remain open on Saturdays so customers may drop off packages or mail. (Source)
