Oscar Pistorius officially charged with murder

Oscar Pistorius, the South African paralypian accused of killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day, has been charged with murder and possession of illegal ammunition. Pistorius, 26, confirmed he will arrange his own defence and witnesses for the trial. He was due in court to have his indictment served on what would have been the model’s 30th birthday. (Source)  

Lee Thompson Young, star of “The Famous Jett Jackson,” commits suicide

“Rizzoli & Isles” actor Lee Thompson Young, who got his big break in the title of the popular Disney Channel series “The Famous Jett Jackson” when he was just 14, died Monday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 29 years old. His publicist confirmed that the death was a suicide. Young is part of the table of actors who holds a nostalgic place in the hearts of millennials who grew up watching him on TV. (Source)

Coast apologizes in Montgomery case

Elizabeth Coast, a woman who falsely accused an innocent man of sexual assault in 2008 was sentenced Monday afternoon. Coast received a five-year jail sentence with all but two months suspended. She will also have to pay the man she accused, Joathan Montgomery, $90,000 in restitution for the 8 years he spent in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Coast apologized to Montgomery saying, “I am very sorry for what I have done.” (Source)
