April Fools' joke ends in arrest

A holiday meant for light-hearted jokes and hilarious pranks became serious after Hampton resident Susan Alexandria Tinker was allegedly arrested for prank calling the Hampton Police Division about a burglary. Officers went to the Waffle House where the “buglary” was said to have happened but found out the whole situation was a hoax. Tinker was charged with one count of falsely summoning police and a misdemeanor. (Source)

Prosecutors will seek death penalty in Colorado movie theater attack; ‘Justice is death’

Families of the deceased victims from the Colorado movie theater shooting may feel better after finding out that James Holmes may suffer execution. Although the sentence could take upward of 10 to 15 years to conduct, many of the victims' friends and families speak a sigh of relief in the case. “I love the choice. I love it, I love it,” said Bryan Beard, a former friend of Alex Sullivan, one of the shooter’s victims. (Source)

Accused officer killer indicted in VB

A Virginia Beach Grand Jury returned an indictment today against 25-year-old Kareen Hassan Turner, one of the suspects accused of killing Victor Decker, an off-duty Norfolk police officer on October 26, 2010. Turner was indicted for second degree murder, armed robbery, use of a firearm and conspiracy. Raymond Lewis Perry is also accused of the crime and will face a jury trial in February 2014. (Source)

“Buckwild” star, two others found dead in West Virginia

Shain Gandee, 21, a cast member of the MTV reality show “Buckwild” was found dead today in a sport utility vehicle in a ditch along with his uncle and a third, unidentified person near Sissonville, West Virginia. Authorities had been searching for the men since early Sunday morning. They were last seen around 3 a.m. Sunday at a bar, and they told people they were going driving off-road. Authorities found the 1984 Ford Bronco that belonged to the Gandee family in a ditch with all three men inside. No foul play is suspected. (Source)
