Local Love: Cool Venues in Hampton Roads (Part 3)

We scoped out places from Virginia Beach to Norfolk to Williamsburg and found some unique venues for receptions and ceremonies that can help you make a statement on your wedding day. This final post features the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Two Rivers Country Club in Williamsburg and the Smithfield Station in Smithfield.

Contemporary Art Center of Virginia (Virginia Beach)

The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, known as the CAC, is a combination of contemporary style and art, creating an impressive venue for your wedding. The CAC is located in Virginia Beach, just six blocks from the Oceanfront. In addition to the rental space, the landscaped grounds provide plenty of excellent photo opportunities.

Bonus: Admission to most of the art exhibitions is included with your venue rental fee.

Two Rivers Country Club (Williamsburg)

Two Rivers Country Club is the country club of Governor’s Land, a private, waterfront residential community in Williamsburg. Its golf, fine dining, private beaches and marina, and spectacular views bring residents from all over. Located only minutes from downtown Williamsburg, it’s easily accessible from the local airports and only 45 minutes from Virginia Beach’s Oceanfront.

If you are interested in having your wedding at this extraordinary location for your wedding, make sure you call them well in advance.

Your event can take place within the clubhouse or on the grounds.

The River Room can accommodate up to 200 guests and offers views of the 18th fairway and the waterfront. Adjacent spaces are available for cocktail hour.

For an even larger event, the lawn overlooking the golf course can be set up with tents.
Not only will you receive hands-on help every step of the way from the club’s event planner, but you will have Executive Chef Tony Rizzo in charge of your menu.

Smithfield Station (Smithfield)

Located on the Pagan River in Smithfield, VA, the Smithfield Station is a mix of history, elegance and romance. The Smithfield Station is on the water’s edge and closer to Winsor Castle Park, a beautiful and natural option for your ceremony. You can celebrate in the quaint Smithfield Station or dance the night away while traveling down the river by boat. You and your guests can stay at the Smithfield Station or at another one of Smithfield’s nearby lodging options.
