7 Fabulous Fall Smoothies

During the next two months, most of us will forget those long-lost New Year’s resolutions, put away the diet books that have been collecting dust recently and tuck our skinny jeans nicely in their drawer way below our um…not so skinny jeans. And why all the forsaken commitment? The season of indulgence is on its way, and we’re more than ready to partake in a sinful assortment of turkey, stuffing, pies and cookies (not to mention cocktails). To ensure that it’s not too long before we return to skinny jean mode, there needs to be a plan of action to combat these delicious holiday favorites. The solution? The trusty smoothie! Replace one meal a day with one of these healthy (but oh so delicious) smoothies with a fall flair, and you’ll satisfy your hunger for hours without sacrificing a bit on flavor. Here are some of our favorites!

The crisp flavors of pear meld with the warm oats, maple syrup and cinnamon in this recipe for Pear, Oat, Cinnamon and Ginger Shake. Plus, the raw oats provide fiber, which helps to keep cholesterol levels in check! (Whole Living)

Count on this Cherry Mocha Latte Smoothie giving you a morning pick-me-up both from the brown rice protein powder and the cup of brewed coffee! And you really can’t go wrong with the sweet combo of banana, cherries and vanilla almond milk (not to mention raw cacao powder!) (Eating Bird Food)

Apples are an absolute fall must, which is why we love this recipe for Apple Spice Smoothie. It’s easy to make, doesn’t call for expensive ingredients and is super healthy to drink (hello, spinach!) (Free People)

Skip the actual pie for now, and opt for this Pumpkin Pie Smoothie that’s actually good for you! Pumpkin is loaded with antioxidants, fiber and potassium, and you’ll also see some benefits from the ginger and ground flax seeds. (K&K Test Kitchen)

While green smoothies are popular year-round, fall is actually when most “green” ingredients (spinach and kale) are at their peak. Experiment with a harmony of flavors in this recipe for A Perfect Fall Green Smoothie. (Undressed Skeleton)

You’ll soon be hooked on this Blueberry Almond Butter Smoothie, a luscious mix of fruity and creamy flavors with a delectable hint of almond butter. (love & olive oil)

We may feel obligated to have a serving of canned cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving, but here’s a recipe you can actually look forward to enjoying: Cranberry Orange Ginger Smoothie. (Green Plate Rule)

Don't feel like making your own? Our local pick is a Chocolate-Covered Cherry Smoothie from Fruitive in Virginia Beach.
